Why a skirt?
And if a skirt, why a flared version?

Well what better to twirl, swish and generally make a scene upon entering or exiting a room?  While it's not impossible to find a swingy sweater-knit skirt, finding one in cashmere is not an every-day thing, either.  Added to its CV: it is a 16-gore, midi-length and knit from the finest Scottish cashmere. Well, well, that IS something to write home about.

And it gets better (“how” you ask?) It includes its own detached 64” long coordinating cashmere sash.  Meant to be worn together as a finishing-touch to the skirt’s stretch waistband … and adding a nice touch of panache to anything you wear it with. Also beware, this sash can be repurposed as a jaunty tie, or worn with any of our other cashmere pieces, if that’s your thing.

Styling & Pairing Note:

This is going to be your favorite skirt, 9 months of the year.

It's ladylike yet infinitely comfortable.  Defines your waist - but not in a “lace me into my corset” sort of way.  Comes with its very own matching cashmere sash to belt over the waistband, or wear as your whims dictate. For example - around your neck like a twilly scarf, or knotted up like a necktie, or to cinch-up one of our other Autumn Cashmere pieces - the Hearthside Wrap, for example.

This skirt is also going to pair back beautifully with pretty much any of our cashmere tops.

With the Seaside Tee - check.  Dressed but not fussy.

With the Boathouse Top - check. Elevated yet breezy, still not fussy.

With our (coming soon) Margate Turtleneck - check.  Cozy AND looking like you just won the Lotto.

But the best looks may be ones that dive deep into your own closet and pull out a crisp striped button-down shirt, buttoned up & tucked in, with a leather belt to cinch the waist. And on the weekend, when the weather is still mild’ish, the simplest cotton tee shirt, your own denim jacket and a sensible pair of loafers + anklesocks will do the trick.

Other times, just this skirt and a turtleneck. This ensemble is pure ride-or-die with your broken-in riding boots and your passed-down Barbour coat.  (and if there was a discarded burberry scarf in the sleeve of said passed-down Barbour - more the better).

Or when the weather turns toward winter (for real)... and you encounter one of those stormy workdays when you still need to pull it together, because …(remind again why we don't have WFH anymore?) … well you have to make a showing in the office, sleet or no sleet.  Just add a wool blazer (bonus points for elbow patches) tossed over for good measure and you’re good to go.

Can you see where we are going, with this marvel of a skirt?

Lastly, pivot to a nice dinner out.  We  suggest adding a yummy silk blouse from your closet with our upcoming Agnes Stole (in the striped iteration, for added punch)  to complete the look.  With a pair of refined heeled boots, done & dusted.

Again (sorry/not-sorry) you may want two of these, they’re THAT good.  A lighter shade + a darker shade (or a neutral + a color) folded in your sweater drawer,  would settle quite a bit down and provide you with years of season-spanning options.
